A great review from our NODA Representative Sharon Davies. Congratulations to all involved.

This Society, like many others, has two sets of cast and I was lucky that I was able to see both versions.
It is refreshing to see younger societies preforming some of the older, classic musicals and the youngsters seem to enjoy them.
Curly (in both performances) was played by Chris Dance, and what a performance, he sang, danced and acted the part beautifully. He was a joy to watch, an outstanding performance.
Judd Fry (in both performances) Declan Boyle gave another great performance, he had a quiet menace that was just perfect. He gave a great rendition of the very difficult “Lonely Room”.
The dream sequence, often shortened or cut, was lovely and the choreography was very well done. It told the story, used the cast well and was easy to understand. Well done to all involved.
The singing, both solo and chorus, was good and all coped very well with the backing tracks, it was also very nice to hear the harmonies coming through.
As with all societies the shortage of males meant that some male roles were taken by females and they did a great job and I particularly liked Zoe Rayner.
Both casts had their strengths and weaknesses but it is always nice to see youngsters being given the chance to shine, after all they are the future of the theatre.
I really enjoyed this show and I look forward to your next production.
